ACTIVITY ONE

Evaluating and Choosing WebQuests

It would help the eMINTS teachers to have a list of good webquests for the third and fourth grade. Your job is to evaluate WebQuests and recommend them to teachers in the state. Below you will find several links to collections of WebQuests. These are unevaluated WebQuests and may be good inquiry-based activities or may be teacher directed activities using the computer. You are interested in finding inquiry based activies.

Have each person in the group choose a site to check. Use the rubric below to evaluate the WebQuests. With your group choose 3 that you think should be included in a listing and write up a short description of each of them. Do this in Netscape Composer and make each of the links active. Save this document to a disk and give it to Janice. She can then post the results on our Central Cluster Page. Next choose the best of the three to review on the Smart Board for our group.

If you do not find a WebQuest that interests you in these lists feel free to search. My favorite search engine is named google. You just type that in the location line. If you put the word WebQuest in the search line you will have plenty of places to look.
