This is what Kindergardeners are studying:


Technology Skills:
-Know the parts of computers:Moniter, CPU (brain), Printer, Disk, Drive, Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers.
-Understand and demonstrate appropriate behavior and care of computers.
-Recognize specific keys on the keyboard and know their use: Spacebar, enter or return, arrow keys, letters and numbers.
-have an understanding appropriate for their development of the difference between a hard disk and a floppy disk and the use of computer memory.
-Be aware of some of the different uses of the computer.
-Use of the mouse.
-Using menu to close a program.
-Choosing an Icon to open a program.
-Behavior in Computer Lab.
Activities: -Whole class discussion and demonstration.
-followed up by application (using the computer).
-Use Student Writing Center to make a name sign to hang in your room. Spell your name correctly.
-Make a card for someone you know.
-Whole class discussion an demonstration. Talk about the brain of a computer. Compare the computer's brain. Show a floppy disk and a hard disk if possible.v -Whole class demonstration of CD-ROM, traveling with Netscape.
-Communicate with E-mail with a known person outside of school. (a grandparent, a class helper, an expert who visits the class)
-Participate in an E-mail project with other classes.
