An Invitation to Travel
An aging billionaire is offering
a prize to a team of travelers who will plan the best adventurous trip
in the United States. He can no longer travel and he wants to enjoy
travel vicariously (by watching someone else's travel adventure). He will
pay for the best adventure submitted to him. In order to win the
trip you must apply. The first step in the application process will
test your writing skills. The next step will require careful figuring of
money and other numbers. Finally there is an actual face to face presentation
of your plans. You must convince the mystery billionaire of the value
of your trip. Since he cannot come to our class we are going to videotape
your presentations and send the tape to him. He will e-mail us with
his choice. He has provided a rubric
that will help guide you in preparing your presentation.
